Anyone who has experienced anxiety knows how it feels to lose the sense of all rational thought and feel like everything is spinning out of control. Flipping your lid can become a habitual response to even the slightest stressor which isn't helpful in any way. By understanding what's going on in our brain when experiencing anxiety, we can recognize the value of using mindfulness techniques to combat the symptoms of anxiety.
